I Am Be
Director:  Cheri Gaulke
Overview:

“I Am Be” is an experimental narrative film written, directed and edited by visual artist Cheri Gaulke. The short film is a retelling of the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone through a contemporary lens of sexual violence and female empowerment. The female characters of mother and daughter tell the ancient story through voice-over while a contemporary story is played out onscreen. This telling also introduces the lesser known third female character, Iambe, who is pivotal to the story's arc. The film is the culminating artistic piece of a 2-year collaborative digital storytelling project with A Window Between Worlds, a non-profit organization that uses art as a healing tool to empower and transform those impacted by violence and trauma.

Through a letter, she comes to Marlene, an old German lady who lives in Brazil and keeps her memories inside a pool without water. During the visit, the old lady reveals details of her life that intersect with Claudia's grandmother's past, a German fugitive of the 2nd World War.

Gun
Director:  Haven Nutt
Overview:

A short southern gothic film shot on Kodak Super8 film, written and directed by Haven Nutt. When 8 year old Cassie discovers her heroin addict mother has hung herself, she sets off to find love in the only way she knows how. She throws on her mother's red dancing dress, paints a heavy face of makeup, packs a bag, and heads down the railroad tracks 'to the big city' seeking affection. GUN is an Arthouse flick that's a little provocative, a little humorous, slightly awkward, and deeply backwoods southern gothic.
